Born and raised in Manhattan, Devin Gaffney was 19 when he graduated from the French Culinary Institute and began working at Jean-Georges Perry St. During his time learning the refinement and simplicity of great food, he was promoted to the rank of tournant. Following a two year stint, he was asked by chef Tyler Kord to join the team at No. 7 restaurant where he quickly rose to Sous-Chef. After leaving to work with former Perry St. Chef de Cuisine Justin Bazdarich at Speedy Romeo, he returned to No. 7 as Chef de Cuisine. Following a stint as company wide creative director, he has returned again to run the kitchen at Speedy Romeo, as Chef de Cuisine. He continues to explore the dynamic power of clean and simple flavors.
